After months of planning, budgets, checklists, todos and more appointments than you could imagine; the wedding weekend is finally here.
You have family in town, may even be hosting them at your home. There are last minute errands, items to print or pickup, maybe even a quick Amazon order for those pens you wanted on your sign in table.
The week of the wedding is a whirlwind of emotions, excitement and nerves. Here are some tips to ensure the morning of your wedding runs smoothly, and what you can do ahead of time to prepare.
Wedding Day Survival Kit- Build an emergency kit for the morning of your wedding. Common items to include are:
Sewing Kit with different colored threads, needles, and buttons
Stain remover stick, safety pins, straight pins
Personal Items: Makeup remover wipes, floss, mints, mouth wash, deodorant spray, tampons, advil, stomach ache reliever, bobby pins, hair ties, bandaids
Phone charger
Photographer’s Detail Kit- This collection, which can be placed in a zip lock bag or your shoe box, contains all of the details and special pieces you’d like your photographer to photograph and style the day of. Common items include:
Full invitation suite, save the date, menu card, wedding program
Vow books, and ring box
Jewelry (rings, earrings, necklace), veil, bridal shoes, garter, perfume
Heirloom pieces
Decor- this could be fresh flowers, a styling mat, extra lace from your dress or other items you love (monogrammed robe, slippers, etc.)
Plan for food- The wedding day is a LONG day, so be sure you’re thinking of food and water throughout the “getting ready” portion of your day; for you, your bridesmaids and any vendors who may be onsite for more than 4 hours.
Order sandwich trays, fruit trays and other bite sized items to keep on hand in your suite. Be sure to stock up on plenty of water!
Gifts- plan ahead and don’t wait until the last minute!
If you’re giving any gifts the day of your wedding, such as to your spouse, parents, wedding party or vendors, plan ahead!
Write the thank you cards, wrap gifts and have everyone in one place for easy distribution
The week leading up to the wedding day can feel like a frenzy; prepare for these items ahead of time or ask your wedding party for assistance!
Remember to take time to rest, relax and enjoy!
