Best Places for your Engagement Session: Downtown Houston
In preparation of my engagement sessions with couples, I like to sit down with them in advance and talk about their expectations, their love story, and what they’re envisioning for their engagement shoot.
These photos are often the first time that a couple is getting professional photos done, and guidance or suggestions to prepare are often helpful.
Be sure to discuss and coordinate your outfits. This doesn’t mean you need to “match” one another, but if you’re planning to wear a cocktail dress, your fiancé shouldn’t be wearing shorts.
Bring props; a bottle of champagne, your motorcycle, a pet; things you both love.
Consider timing; if you’re planning to use these images on your save the date, let me know ahead of time, so we can schedule the session accordingly.
Top Engagement Session Locations in Downtown Houston
The Sabine Street Bridge
This unique spot is quintessential Houston! With both downtown views, a beautiful bridge and quick access to the parks along the bayou, it’s a great spot for photos
The top of parking garages
I can’t divulge which specific parking garage (shh! It’s a secret!) but these shots are great if you’re looking for an edgy vibe, want downtown views directly in the background or want a classic black and white photo.
Main Street
With the rail in the background and a ton of local bars and restaurants for “lifestyle” shots, Main Street is a great option for a one-stop-multi-look shop. Street shots, unique building facades or perhaps a seat at the bar sharing a bottle of wine.
I can’t wait to help you capture your unique love story!
